inspired
Something I posted in Schizophrenic Colors.
I haven’t been posting anything because I haven’t had anything to post.
As the usual text post that comes up in this little site goes, I’ve been out of sync; uninspired, to say the least. I’ve gotten advice from people not to force it. So I haven’t. But my sister, the genius that she is, said that if I don’t at least try, it may never come.
And this is how this video comes into picture. As much as I want to remark how Brandon Boyd is so much sexier to me now than ever, finding out that he paints as well, I can’t help but envy him even more.
As I was watching this video, I was green with envy. The small buckets of paint forayed on the floor. His brushes no longer recognizable due to being drowned in paint. The organic look and feel of the wood beneath his hands. The colors splashed into phantasmagoria. The feeling and grandeur you get after seeing your work finished. I envied him. Very much.
Envy. To the point of movement, maybe even to the point of enlightenment? It was something I haven’t felt in such a long time. It felt good. Really good.
This feeling of jealousy, hopefully, will get me to start.
I’ve unearthed three small planks of wood I’ve bought in the past, hoping I’d paint on it. Funny how only months later I find the urge to actually do it. Hopefully these three will be the first works I preview in this site after what seems like ages.
I know I’ll be shaky at first, since I haven’t really drawn or painted for months. I’m out of practice. But a starts a start.
I show this video to you, passing on something that has inspired me.
And maybe, just maybe, if you’re lucky, you’d be jealous too :)
